Vidyut Jamwal, who after a struggle of a decade has managed to make a career out of his training and practice in martial arts, is seeing bigger honours coming his way. Fantastic Fest, an internationally recognised festival that introduced the world famous martial artist, Bruce Lee, has managed to spot Vidyut for the work he has done in Bollywood from the time of FORCE to COMMANDO.
He has just received a letter from Fantastic Fest which appreciates him for his martial art and on-screen performance. The letter speaks about how Vidyut stands to take the martial arts world by storm after a dynamic breakout performance as the titular one man army in COMMANDO.
Says James Marsh, Asian Editor at Twitchfilm, ''Jamwal appears to have developed a unique fighting style that combines elements of Kung-Fu and Jujitsu, with Indian martial art Kalaripayattu, dance and acrobatics. The outcome is a fantastically agile combination of jumps, spins, kicks and grappling moves that prove incredibly cinematic.''
Vidyut, who recently had a friendly 'action' appearance in BULLETT RAJA, says, 'The way things are working for me currently, I think the happiest person is my mother. She doesn't say anything explicitly but then I don't need reactions from anyone else. She was the one to inspire me into the world of martial arts and its nuances. I always tell people that I was born to do action and it's my mother who made it possible.'
No wonder, those who are looking at the next action hero from the fresh crop of youngsters around aren't looking further. Raj Kumar Santoshi, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Ram Madhvani have already signed him for one film each.
'People are curious to know about me that where has this guy come from and what is he up to. I like that intrigue factor,' smiles Vidyut before signing off.
